The 'contact attempts' tracks anytime a user clicks or taps the call, text, or email buttons, and people click things for all sorts of reasons.
Someone can easily click/tap a button and then not follow through or it could have just been an accident. There's no way to know if they actually completed the call or sent the text message on our end. And even though it's impossible to make it perfect due to the odd things that users do, it's still been a very good indicator of the interest level per ad.
